Diabetes Cure In The Form Of Islet Transplantation Is Giving New Hope To Millions Of Diabetics

Diabetes is a condition that is putting a heavy burden on the many patients who can choose between preventing the disease from further aggravation, finding diabetes cure and getting the best health care for the condition. In fact, these three options are the subject of study by the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Institutes of Health or NIH is very actively involved in finding diabetes cure for types 1 and 2 diabetes though with more emphasis on type 1 diabetes. However, there is at present no diabetes cure that is known to man and so one has to look for certain methods that can be thought of as being a “cure” for diabetes rather than a real diabetes cure.

Number Of Different Options To Choose From

So, what is being touted as diabetes cure really involves a number of different options that include transplanting of pancreas, transplanting Islet cells that are the producers of insulin, developing artificial pancreas, and also manipulating genes. While each of these ‘diabetes cures’ is quite challenging, they need to address the issues of also being able to prevent immune rejection and also being able to have sufficient insulin cells, and then keep them alive. However, there is good news because in this regard there is some progress being made although it has to be said that the progress is quite slow.

Nevertheless, it is diabetes cures such as islet cell transplantation that are giving a lot of hope to millions of diabetics which is supposed to be the ultimate solution for type 1 diabetes though it still requires that patients need to monitor their blood sugar. However, it does do away with having to calculate how much nutrition and complex carbohydrates as well as sugar that one is taking and it also does away with the highly dangerous insulin reactions.

One thing that is sure is that islet transplants will help in reversing hyperglycemia that is something that every diabetic with type 1 diabetes experiences. and the further good news is that this diabetes cure is an option that is now much more viable for treating the diabetes condition.

The bottom line with this diabetes cure is that it will do away with the patient requiring insulin shots and thus there is nothing to worry about with regard to blood sugar reactions, or passing out, or any other such problem. Once patients have tried islet transplantation, they will feel renewed and will live life in a more exciting as well as exhilarating way.
